July 26, 2022 Dinner Meeting

The next dinner meeting will be held July 26th 2022 at Spring Creek Barbeque, 4895 Hwy 6, Missouri City, Texas. We will start to gather at 6:30 P. M. for the Barbeque Buffet and the meeting will begin at 7:00 P. M.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL NO LONGER BE MEETING AT THE SWEETWATER COUNTRY CLUB.

The July speaker will be Dr. Keith Atlavilla, who's topic will be "The International Dimensions of the American Revolution".

Our speaker for this meeting will be David H. Falloure. David has authored 3 books on the Texas ports and ship channel, and worked on a PBS documentary about the Houston Ship Channel: Deep Water Centennial. David has an online blog about Brands in History (brandsinhistory.com).

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Sweetwater country Club, 4400 Palm Royale Blvd, Sugar Land, Texas 77479. The speaker is Thom Jackson and he will be speaking on the Constitution.  We will have a new member Orientation at 6:00 PM. If you are a new member or older member who wants to find out more about our Chapter or the SAR, please join us. The regular meeting will start at 6:30PM (Social) and meeting starts at 7:00PM.

Next Tuesday evening your Alexander Hodge Chapter will be celebrating our 25th anniversary.  The chapter was founded back in 1993. Please join us at the Sweetwater Country Club, 4400 Palm Royale Blvd., Sugar Land.  We start to gather at 6:30 and the meeting starts at 7 P.M.  The speaker will be HBU Professor, Dr. Anthony Joseph. Dr. Joseph's talk will be "Washington & Jacky: The Father of his Country as a Father".  We all should all enjoy this one.

Color Guard call out.  If you have a SAR uniform please wear it to the meeting, so that we can present the colors.

We are privileged to have as our guest speaker Judge Tom Lawrence, past President General of the SAR. His topic will be the "Boston Tea Party". You don't want to miss this one.  The menu selections are; Spiced Grilled Chicken Breast with seared peaches and pecan butter or Burgundy Beef Tips over Rice.  We start to gather at 6:30 P. The speaker is Ray Cox, of the Piney Woods SAR Chapter. His presentation will discuss a day in the life of the Revolutionary War Soldier and how the fife/drum signals regulated the soldier’s day. He will include stories about daily life and playing of drum and fife calls in the Revolutionary War. An email to members will advise of menu choices. May Meeting with the Alexander Hodge DAR Chapter - May 16, 2017 at 6:00PM

Please plan to attend DAR's end of the year meeting on May 16th, at La Escondida Mexican Grill & Catering. We will be gathering at 6:00 pm then 6:30 seating for dinner.  Location is 7270 Hwy. 6, Suite  500, Missouri City, TX  77459- just down Hwy. 6, with the turn right just passed the grand entrance to Lake Olympia on the left.  The Alexander Hodge SAR Chapter is invited to join the DAR and all their HODARS and/or significant others. Mr. Tom Green will provide the entertainment for the evening with a presentation on Alexander Hodge.

Attendance information is needed by Saturday April 29th if not before. Please find the menu selections below just to provide you with some information now.

Our Speaker will be Dr. Christopher Hammons and his topic will be "Faith and the Founding Fathers". You might remember his excellent and entertaining speech on Paul Revere last year.
