| On January 26th, designated Lamar Day by the Texas Legislature, Richmond Mayor Evalyn Moore read a proclamation honoring Mirabeau B. Lamar at his gravesite in Morton Cemetery, Richmond, Texas. Attending were: kneeling, Glen Camp, and Carl Hill, back row, Mike Bailey, Tom Green, Rion Braddock, & Tom Houston. Mirabeau B. Lamar was inaugurated President of the Republic of Texas in 1838 and is known as the Father of Texas Education. |
